The Snohomish Times predicts Mike Hope (R) as the winner over Liz Loomis (D) in the race for the 44th legislative district.Snohomish, WA - On election night 2008 the big blue wave was more like a tsunami to Washington State Republicans. One exception may be the 44th legislative district, it looked as though the blue wave was going to engulf Mike Hope as it did everyone else but then came additional returns. Hope began to gain ground with every update, starting with about 46 percent on election night. 47 percent Wednesday, 48 percent Thursday and Friday 49.58 percent with thousands more votes to count according to Snohomish County Elections.
All the ballots are counted….
Posted by: mikehope on November 12th, 2008Updated Friday November 14th: All the ballots have been counted, all the duplicates have been accounted for, and we remain in front with a 107-vote lead! Thank you to everyone who kept the faith, we did it!!!!
I want to thank all of our supporters. Your hard work has kept us in the game when our opponents spent nearly a half million dollars against us. I am thankful for our campaign’s grassroots efforts and tons of young voters that put forth many hours going door to door to make a difference in our district and county. There is no doubt that because of their efforts we have survived one of Snohomish County’s nastiest campaign attacks by my opponent and her supporters and look forward to a victory as the numbers tighten.
Thanks for a great year!

4 Hours, 40 Volunteers, 4000 Doors!
Posted by: mikehope on October 26th, 2008Thanks to all of our hard working volunteers that went out today throughout every city in the 44th district. Our volunteers covered 4,000 homes within 4 hours. One voter in Marysville praised the campaign commenting, “It is so awesome to see so many young volunteers becoming involved.” Since this summer, our volunteers have passed out over 35,000 brochures. Change in Olympia is on the way. Great job everyone!
